Built-in dishwasher in a modern kitchen
WHAT WE CAN DISCUSS

Start with the symptom, not a guess.

Describe what the appliance is doing and we’ll help clarify the next step. A diagnosis, parts availability and local service options cannot be confirmed from a category alone.

Enquiries include

  • Built-in and freestanding dishwashers
  • Poor cleaning or water-temperature concerns
  • Drainage, inlet and leak symptoms
  • Door, control and no-start faults
COMMON SYMPTOMS

What’s happening?

  • The dishwasher will not start or stops mid-cycle
  • Dishes are still dirty, wet or covered in residue
  • Water is left in the bottom after a cycle
  • The appliance is leaking or making an unfamiliar noise
  • A warning light or error code is displayed
When to stop using it

Turn the dishwasher off at the power point and close its water supply if it is leaking, smells of burning or trips the electrical circuit.

USEFUL DETAILS

Help us understand the fault.

  • Note whether the dishwasher fills, heats, drains and dries.
  • Have the model label and any flashing lights or code sequence ready.
  • Mention if the inlet, drain hose or power point has recently changed.

REPAIR OR REPLACE?

Make an informed decision.

Repair may suit when…

Repair is often worth assessing when the cabinet and racks are sound and the fault appears limited to a pump, inlet, seal, control or heating component.

Compare replacement when…

Replacement may be more practical when corrosion, multiple faults or an older appliance make the likely repair disproportionate.

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Before you enquire.

Why is water left in the bottom of my dishwasher?

A blocked filter, drain path or pump can be involved, but the cause cannot be confirmed from the symptom alone. Tell us whether the appliance displays a code and if the pump can be heard.

Can you help if dishes are not cleaning properly?

Yes. Share the cycle used, whether the water heats and whether spray arms and filters have been cleaned. That information helps determine the appropriate repair enquiry.

Should I keep using a leaking dishwasher?

No. Switch it off and close the water supply until service options have been discussed, particularly if water is reaching cabinetry or electrical connections.

What information do you need to identify my dishwasher?

The brand, model number, suburb and a short description of what happens during the cycle. A clear photo of the model label can also help.
